Bali has more to offer than the most travel guides reveal. The scenic beauty of volcanic islands with their tropical vegetation and abundant wildlife, the impressive appearance of typical Bali style houses and old temples, beautiful beaches attracting surfers from all over the world plus the charm and kindness of Balinese people is almost too much of a good thing for the common traveler. But there is a more demanding kind of traveler - the explorer and diver who, besides outstanding aquatic adventures, requires the joy and splendor of a remote, yet comfortable and well-organized resort away from the masses.

The Diving...
Most of the dive sites in Tulamben are just right on the doorstep within walking distance - literally! Others places like Amed, are just a short 5-minutes down the road. Tulamben is famous for the World War II US cargo ship Liberty that lies wrecked just off the coast of this small village. Its bow only a few meters below the surface, the wreck lies 50 meters offshore. Its coral encrusted bow and resident coral fish are visible to snorkels, but the best parts are 20-30 meters down, and only accessible with full diving regalia. For obvious reasons, it mainly attracts divers. The beaches are pebbly, but the water is clear.

Diving in Nusa Penida & Lembongan Island...
The islands of Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan are found off the south east coast of Bali. Various excellent dive sites with the possibility of meeting a
Sunfish, also known as
Mola Mola (usually between June to November).
Blue Corner and Crystal Bay is an advanced dive due to the currents but most of the other sites are intermediate. Lovely reef with healthy hard and soft coral beds, plenty of marine life including sea snakes and blue ribbon eels. On the more advanced dives, it's the current that brings in the big fish, as they feed on the nutrient-rich water. Expect to see rays, bull and spotted, barracuda and if you are really lucky.
