Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available.

A PADI Junior Open Water Diver between the ages of 10 and 12 years may only dive with a PADI Professional, a certified parent or certified guardian to a maximum depth of 12 meters/ 40 feet.

The course builds upon the concept of performance-based learning. We will ensure that you can master all the necessary skills performance that requires in the course; means you will never really fail, although it may take you a while to meet the objective. We only conduct classes in a small group, so we can give you maximum individual attention and maximize your safety. This approach enables us to address any problems you may have and ensures our closest supervision during your dive training. As a result you will become a more confident and better trained diver. We want you to enjoy your diving experience so you'll love diving as much we do.

1Independent study - Home study - Included in your course price, you will receive your training materials. You watch the Open Water Diver DVD and read through the Open Water Diver manual at your own time. The course is divided into 5 easy to digest modules; simply answer the questions in the manual as you work your way through.

2Knowledge development - Classroom sessions - After your home study, you attend knowledge development sessions in our comfortable and air-conditioned lecture room with your instructor, who will answer any questions you may have and go into more detail about what you've read and applies it to actual diving experiences.

3Confined water dives - Pool training sessions - In a private and specially build pool you learn the skills necessary to be a safe, happy and competent diver. The pool sessions allow you to perform the water skills that you'll be using during the open water dives, with the same equipment.

4Open water dives - Open ocean dives - You practice and fine-tune the skills you learn in your pool sessions, in an open sea environment. These dives are your first steps in fulfilling your desire to explore the underwater world. All the dives are conducted under the guidance of your instructor who will be with you every step of the way.

Once you've completed the first three parts of the course, you'll need to complete four open-water dives to obtain your certification. There are a number of great options for doing your PADI Open Water Diver certification, including tropical vacations and local options. No matter which option you select, you'll be certified at the end of the day!

At Ocean Xplorer, all of our scuba diving certification courses include all the certification and instruction fees, and also the use of cylinders, weights and weight belt, buoyancy control device and regulators on all dives.

• Receive PADI Open Water Diver Certification Card after completing the course

• Recreational Dive Planner (RDP) Table with instructions for use booklet

• All knowledge development sessions time
• 2 confined water training dives (covering 5 sessions)

In addition we teach all of our diver level courses in small groups to ensure that you receive the attention that you deserve. All our courses are taught according to PADI Standards.

Participants must fill in a Student Record File with personal information and signs the following:

• Standard Safe Diving Practices Statement of Understanding
• Liability Release and Assumption of Risk Agreement
• Youth Diving Reponsibility and Risks Acknowledgment (for children under the age of 12)
